Or at least that's what I told my friend in the passenger seat to make him stop laughing at me for taking a picture. This thing just pulled out of the carwash, hence it is too clean for the roads. Props to this guy for driving his awesome near-classic in the winter, yet still keeping it in showroom shape.

Hang on here.

1) This car is not even the Sport model.

2) The SL600 never had 700HP. No factory (or AMG for that matter) R129 ever had 700HP.

3) That R129 looks to be a 1996 or earlier car (no Sport badge, square sideview mirrors).

4) Shitty aftermarket wheels.

5) V12 badge on the trunk? The owner put that there, factory never put any badge there (not even AMG).

The R129 SL600 has the M120 6.0L V12 engine that made between the range of 387 to 409HP stock, and the torque numbers were something around 430 to 450ft-lbs.

I mean come on, really? I own a factory tuned one. 210MPH? SL73. Not the SL600. The SL73 cars are very very clearly badged as SL73 cars, and under the hood, they have very unique styling to differentiate them.

Tell your friend if he wants to know about the SL600, he can come to me, and I'll take him for a spin.

Also, there were in the ballpark of 5400 R129 SL600s sold in the US total between 1994 and 2001.
